Today was another lovely day. Even though we were staying another night in our Albergue, we had to be out by 9:00am for cleaning. Cynthia and I walked past the Cathedral again to a place we knew for breakfast.
Before we even got there, we were stopped by a woman from Alberta who recognized us from the pilgrim mass. We understood her need to speak “Canadian”. She was lovely. She lived on a farm with extended family just outside of Edmonton. She had breakfast with us.
We then went to the pilgrim museum and I bumped into two women who were on the train to St Jean with me. They were from Australia and were in touch with others I had met. This is the magic of the Camino.
In the afternoon we went to retrieve Cynthia’s suitcase. She had spent time at a cousin’s in the south of France and needed more clothes than a backpack would hold. She is also meeting a friend for 3 days in Porto so needed travelling clothes rather than Camino clothes.
We were a bit in the burbs for a while but ended up having lunch at a very local restaurant. There was not a tourist in sight. The food was good but a bit heavy
About 4:00pm, I decided that I wanted pasta for dinner. Cynthia was on board, so I went grocery shopping for ingredients. I made Ratatouille and too much pasta so I offered the cooked pasta to others who were in the Albergue. It was all eaten and my craving for pasta was satisfied.
Tomorrow we take a bus to Muxia to spend 3 days by the sea. It’s been an amazing trip so far and my cold gets a little better every day. My stitches are still there but no longer painful. I’m on the mend. Hope everyone had an awesome Thanksgiving. Buen Camino
Ps. I realize that my writing is a little pedestrian. I do apologize. Sometimes l’m tired or busy organizing buses, accommodation, meals etc. Thank you for understanding.
