Many apologies for not posting yesterday. It was a transition day. We took a taxi to the bus station and a bus to Muxia which is a lovely seaside town. We had crab croquettes, padron peppers and chips. With a glass of white wine each it was lovely.
We were however not staying there. The Little Fox House is 6kms east and in the hills. It is run by a rather eclectic British woman who has lived in Canada, Costa Rica, God knows where else and now Spain. She has a number of self published books and will spend 75 days in South East Asia next year because she turns 75 then and yes there will be two travel guides based on that trip.
Cynthia and I are sharing a room with twin beds which is very nice. There is one other chap here, also from Canada. Dinner last night was pasta with mussels. It was good. There was lots of conversation because our hostess is a talker. Tracey will take us into Muxia today because other than sitting in the garden reading there is not much else to do.
The house is large and filled with bedrooms, sitting rooms and books. There are lots of cushions, carpets and cats. However the one bathroom could use a redo. As well as being lime green, the sink has cold water only, you hold the flush on the toilet for a full 12 seconds and I don’t understand the shower. We have two more nights here.
I’m leaning to going back to Santiago with Cynthia, sharing her hotel room for one night and then booking an Albergue for my remaining time before heading to Porto and home. It’s been real. Home soon.
