Many writers walk and subsequently have thoughts on walking. Beneath My Feet is a collection of opinions from thirty five famous writers on walking. You will recognize names, such as, Rebecca Solnit, John Muir, Virginia Woolf, Charles Dickens…etc. This is an easy book to dip into for inspiration as you contemplate whether to walk or not. Some passages are very short – less than half a page and some are several pages in length. None are boring. The collator, Duncan Minshull is a consummate walker with several books of his own on the subject of walking. I enjoyed the excellent writing and the inspiration.
