Santiago 2

Today was a journey of a different type. It was a food adventure. When I was in Santiago in October/25 I was tempted by the tasting menu at the parador Reis Catolicas. It was too expensive. As an aside – in the early days of the Camino this building was a refuge for pilgrims. It is now a first class hotel.

However, when I was planning this Camino a very good friend from high school asked to treat Nick and I to a lovely meal. This gave me the little extra to try the tasting menu. It was amazing.

Braised Turbot

There were 5 courses each with its own glass of wine. Maybe a bit much but it was a little thank you to Nicholas for not minding walking with his 81yo mother.

Stew of wild boar

Fortunately Nick walked me back to our hotel.

Dessert

The dessert wine was almost too sweet or too much. Thank you my friend.

The Camino provides in so many ways. Home soon.
