Today is our last full day in Santiago. It’s always hard to leave. We have booked a room in Madrid near the Chamartin train station and will fly home on Tuesday.
This Sunday is Palm Sunday so the mass at the cathedral was a high mass with a choir, a procession and lots of greenery. Some were even palms.
The service was lovely but the botafumeiro didn’t swing. I guess I have to come here again.
After mass I had a lovely lunch of salad, pasta and vino blanco at an Italian restaurant I tried to go to the last time I was here but it was closed. It was open and lovely this time.
Nick went to a Burger King. He loved it.
The sun continues to shine although it’s a bit chilly. I wrap my Turkish towel around me like a huge shawl and stay quite cozy.
I will go to a Spanish restaurant a few doors down for my last dinner here. I’m looking forward to coming home but hate to leave. The Camino is so much a metaphor for life. How many times have we been in these push/pull situations over the years.
Well for the most part I’ve had a Buen Camino. I am thinking of another one but I know the Camino will provide 😊
