The trails today were marginally easier, but the day was hotter 28C. I booked a hostel in Villava so I didn’t have to arrive in Pamploma exhausted and then have to find my alberque. My accommodation here is fine, but the restaurant next door could be improved. I didn’t mind the tables of locals having their early drinks. It was the mountain bikes that cycled through on a regular basis that was a little awkward. Well it took your mind off the cigarette butts on the floor.
I suppose I could have hunted around for something better but I was tired plus the view from this common area was lovely….and they served the Spanish equivalent of Poutine. Not very healthy but delicious.
Tomorrow it may rain. I’m trying to avoid a slippery climb by taking a bus around the rise. I’ll still walk about 10-15km but not 20km with an elevation. I’ll let you know how it goes.
