Belorado

Today was another sunny day. It was a bit too warm but I managed 13kms to Granon. I was hoping to take a bus to Belorado which was another 15kms away and the only available bed. There were no buses on Sunday. I had to take a taxi. The owner of the restaurant I had lunch in was kind enough to call 3 companies to get someone to come and get me for 35euros ouch!

Still I’m here; the place is lovely and I will have dinner here tonight. It’s been a tiring day. The walk was great. It’s the logistics of lodging that is challenging.

Dinner at the hostel last night started out a bit quiet. The woman beside me was Italian with limited English. The people across were French with no English and the woman beside me was from Thailand. Sigh! Fortunately a lovely woman from Ireland joined us. We both finished our half bottles of red Rioja and continued chatting until they had cleared the tables and turned out the lights. I have to make the best of where I am because it’s such a struggle to find places because it’s so busy. Anyway you accept what the Camino offers as it is meant to be a trial. For most it is the long distance walking. For me it’s the struggle for lodging. I’ll keep you posted
