I had a great 14kms hike today to Estella. Taking the bus from Puerta La Reina to the first stop down the road reduced the walking length from 21kms to 14kms. These shorter walks are like rest days. Well I needed one after the party last night. Two Scottish chaps I chatted to in a lunch line up earlier in the day invited me to join their table for dinner. They had grown to a lively group of four by then. It was a wonderful evening. I left them to their schnapps at the end. Three glasses of wine was enough for me.
I would like to avoid taking buses but the availability of hostels within shorter walking distances is very limited. I’m sure things will sort themselves out. The Camino works in mysterious ways. I’ll keep you posted.
