Today was an almost too easy walk from Viana to Logrono. Rachel and I took a taxi to Viana again to shorten the walk from 20 to 12kms. It was a beautiful sunny day, not too hot and a fairly easy flat walk. The only mishap was a stumble on a small stone while both walking and talking too much. I’m fine except for a small bruise on my cheek and a hugely wounded ego.
Logrono is lovely. I had lunch in the square. It was a gorgeous tomato and real tuna – not from a tin – salad. Joan whom I had met a few times on the trail dropped by. Then I chatted with a chap at a nearby table who was resting a twisted ankle. You are rarely alone on the Camino.
I plan to go to the pilgrim mass this evening and then for dinner. Tomorrow is a 19kms walk. Wish me luck.
