Dinner in Madrid

This post is a little late because I’ve been trying to keep up with my son. We had dinner in the plaza Mayor in Madrid on Thursday evening. It was spare but cost too much. The cost of the mains was ok it was the extras – water, bread, and a deft switch from a 4euro bottle of wine to a 27euro bottle which we didn’t notice. Anyway it all tasted lovely.

The meal was light because Nick wasn’t feeling 100% That didn’t stop him from having a whiskey nightcap in the rooftop bar, going to the Sangria making and drinking party at the hostel, watching a game on TV, inviting a roommate to go to the pub crawl also organized by the hostel. He did get back about 2. We made our train to Sarria by 10am, walked 7kms around Sarria after lunch which included a coffee for me and a double rum for the man.

Unfortunately the washing machine was broken at our hostel so we napped, went out for dinner and I left Nick to find a party. More to come later.
