The Reason You Walk

I loved this book. Wab Kinew is currently the premier of Manitoba, an indigenous person and a brilliant writer. Wab’s father was a residential school survivor. Much of Wab’s story is about regaining their indigenous pride, the process of Truth and Reconciliation and his path out of “trouble” and on to a productive life, as a father, husband, and political leader. It is a “must read.” The last chapter explains the title and it becomes very clear that we all walk our own paths to a better life.
