Time To Go Home

Somehow the world lets you know when it’s time to go home and reset your compass. I have returned to the Albergue by the bus station. I got a much better bunk in a slightly better room (or a much better room with a slightly better bunk) with a phone charger right beside me. This […]

OMG What a day

Today I thought I had the day to myself. I would look in every shop for small gifts to take home. I could lose myself in the labyrinth of streets that descend from the Cathedral and send you to your various purgatories. My phone was charged and I felt confident I could get out of

SCQ

SCQ is the name of the new hostel. It’s much nicer although further from the bus station. The hostel last night had no windows. It was very busy and claustrophobic. This hostel has lovely big windows a large eating and cooking area and fewer people. Tomorrow I will walk 1km into the old town to

Return to Santiago

Yesterday Cynthia and I took the bus from Muxia to Santiago. Tracey gave us a lift into town and showed us the church on the rocks, which is very beautiful. We had a seafood lunch. I had clams in a Marinara sauce and Cynthia had giant shrimps. When we got to Santiago, we had a

Muxia

Many apologies for not posting yesterday. It was a transition day. We took a taxi to the bus station and a bus to Muxia which is a lovely seaside town. We had crab croquettes, padron peppers and chips for lunch. With a glass of white wine each it was lovely. The sea view was dessert!

Santiago 2

Today was another lovely day. Even though we were staying another night in our Albergue, we had to be out by 9:00am for cleaning. Cynthia and I walked past the Cathedral again to a place we knew for breakfast. Before we even got there, we were stopped by a woman from Alberta who recognized us

Santiago

I’ve been eating better since Cynthia and I have been going out for meals together. My cold is getting better by degrees. Today we walked 3kms to the Cathedral, arriving very early. Cynthia got her Compostela and I got a nice certificate for effort. We went to the 10:00am pilgrim mass (in English) in the
